What is DCYC?
Devon Christian Youth Camps (DCYC) have been providing Youth Camps for young people since 1946. Whilst a lot has changed over the last 77 years, many of the core ingredients of what makes DCYC remains the same.
We provide 4 different week long Camps over the Summer; Senior Mixed, Junior Mixed, Boys' and Girls'. In addition, over the Bank Holiday Weekend, Bliss - our family camp takes place where people come and relax, enjoy the amazing location and catch up with friends and have an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God.
So What Happens?
TRANSPORT - For the 4 week long Camps we will provide a coach to bring you to our amazing site - often referred to as 'A piece of Heaven in Devon'
CAMPING - On a beautiful field, over looking the South Devon Coast, we provide tents to sleep and marquees for dining, activities and the sessions
FOOD - DCYC is renowned for providing some scrumptious meals in our purpose built Catering Unit
FRIENDSHIP - Coming to DCYC will give you the chance to make new friends and strengthen existing friendships. Many amazing, lifelong friendships started on the DCYC Field
DISCOVERY - As a Christian Organisation, we want to encourage young people to uncover how much God loves them and how they can grow and develop in their faith, or even discover a relationship with God, through Jesus for the first time. This happens through the morning quiet time in tents and the worship sessions
WORSHIP - Sung praise and worship is part of the celebratory feel of DCYC as young people express their love through song. There are also opportunities to do this through various crafts, arts and activity sessions
ACTIVITIES - There is never a dull moment on camp, whether it is games, sports, workshops, trips to the beach, the infamous leader's disguise in Dartmouth or a day out at Splashdown or Woodlands, there will be a fun packed programme in place
LEADERS - None of this would be possible without the wonderful team of leaders who give of their time to plan, manage and run these wonderful experiences each and every summer!
SAFEGUARDING - DCYC is committed to ensuring our young people and leaders are safe and free from harm and every leader will hold an Enhanced DBS Check and completed appropriate Safeguarding Training.
Our Values
Devon Christian Youth Camps (DCYC), is a registered charity providing the opportunity for exploring the Christian Faith through organising holidays for young people and families, including Camps, Houseparties and Reunions. All holidays have a common purpose, providing an exciting environment enabling the preaching of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the teaching of the Word of God and demonstrating the Christian Life.
The Doctrinal Statement of the Trust
That there is only one true God, who has revealed Himself in the person of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. That man is estranged from God by his sin and salvation is obtained only through repentance and faith in the vicarious sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That the Lord Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again on the third day and shall come again to receive His own.
That the Bible is the revealed Word of God.
That believers should practice the Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Baptism.
