Boys Camp

Dates for 2019: 17th August - 24th August 2019

Age range: 10 -14 (as of 31st August)

Price: £110

If you are looking for a high energy, action packed week and are aged 10-14 then Boys Camp 2017 is just for you! We try to pack as many activities as possible into the 8 days and do our best to have something for everyone!

For instance last year we did:

• football
• volleyball
• crocker - a twist on cricket
• extreme pictionary
• archery
• kayaking
• Woodlands adventure park
• BBQ on the beach
• swimming in the sea
• wide games
• leaders disguise in Dartmouth
• sleeping on the beach
• officers challenge

You can expect to see many of these activities again next year but some may well change as we look to make boys camp even better!

During the afternoon we also provide a tuck shop and book shop to give time for the boys to chill out and relax and build friendships with those in their tent and their leaders.

Food is also an integral part of boys camp and we always have a fabulous team of cooks who provide great meals throughout the week, including the now infamous “chocolate splodge.”

As a Christian charity the week also includes interactive Bible studies and talks during the week which will be based around a theme or book of the Bible. These sessions are designed to be accessible for those coming from non-Christian backgrounds and at the same time encourage and challenge those who have already made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

  • I attended DCYC Boys Camps from 1971/77 where the Sites were at Looe, Corfe, Barnstable and of course Stoke Flemming. I remember the : : Coach struggling up Telegraph Hill : Rudimentary sloping corregated-iron outdoor toilets and the bucket in the green tent, and the exposed cesspit behind it, and the thankless task of a bearded officer who looked after it : Using the potato peeling machine and the smell of the Tilly Lamps in the marquees These Camps were the highlight of my teen summers

Meet the Leader

We're Nat and Louisa, two teachers based in Exeter, currently attending St Thomas Baptist Church.

We have helped at Boys Camp over the past 8 years and have seen some amazing things happen, both on the football pitch and what God does in these boys lives. This will be our first year managing boys camp and we are excited about having fun and bringing kids closer to Christ. Boys Camp is such a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends, (both campers and officers) learn a new skill, (such as Kayaking, Crocker, Archery) experience something new, (such as sleeping on a beach, widegames) and learn more about God.

Every Blessing.
