House Party

Houseparty is aimed for young people aged 17 plus. It takes place over the last May bank holiday weekend and the aim is a chilled relaxing weekend of fun, socializing, activities and learning. The 2020 Houseparty is being held at St. George's House, Georgeham, North Devon which gives us an ideal location for visits to the beach and not far from Barnstaple town centre. We can offer centre run activities if individuals wish to take them up such as coasteering, kayaking, mountain biking as examples. The weekend provides young people with the opportunity to make new friends from other churches as well as enhance friendships already made from previous times at DCYC.

Managers Maureen and Iain Houghton met through the Dawlish young people's fellowship and have attended houseparty, though many years ago. We have been involved with DCYC for the last few years helping out mainly at junior mixed in the background. We have a daughter Jess who is helping with houseparty, she has been involved as a leader for junior mixed over the last nine years. Our aim is for the young people coming to houseparty to have a relaxing and joyous weekend, making long term relationships that last for a lifetime as well as being challenged by the teaching of the weekend and that the lessons we learn from God's word maybe put into practical life experiences.
