(Well actually, in a tent in a field, by the sea, in South Devon!)

What’s Camp Like?

This last year has seen many changes and new additions to the Equipment Team and what it does to serve camp. It is an ongoing task to keep the equipment updated, renewed and replaced as necessary. For several years now there has been much talk about the male toilet block, and it was decided that it would be replaced for Camp 2010; the toilets arrived with days to spare and has been gratefully appreciated. The second addition came in the style of a Utility Shed, which housed the newly awaited dishwasher/steriliser, washing machine, gas fired tumble dryer and potato peeler, all permanently fitted in a 20ft shipping container, adapted for the purpose. Another first for camp was the hire of a trailer freezer unit; this was trialled at all four camps enabling more food storage. Despite a technical fault during the first week this seems to have been beneficial, We see these additions as long-term investments for all future DCYC camps.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all those people who give up their time to support DCYC in the set up and take down of the tents, marquees and mobile units, and for those who regularly pray for safety during these times.
